Kunaal Motors Universal

Kunaal Motors Universal is over in Navi Mumbai, tucked away in Sahyog Apartment. If you know Sector 10 in Nerul, you know it gets pretty crowded around the E1 31 C 2 block. We spend a lot of time with grease on our hands and the sound of engines in the background. It’s not a quiet place, but then again, it’s a motor business so that’s expected. The air is always a bit heavy with the smell of oil and old tires. We’ve been at this address for a good stretch of time. People from the apartment complex walk past and wave while we’re working on a car or checking a part. The space is a bit cramped because we have tools and spare pieces of engines everywhere. Sometimes the humidity in Maharashtra makes the work feel slower, but we stay open late most days to make sure things get finished. The floor is stained from years of spills that never quite come out, no matter how much we scrub. We have a small plastic table in the corner where we drink chai and talk about the day. It’s just a regular local shop where we deal with what’s in front of us. There isn't any fancy waiting room or anything like that, just some stools and the sound of the main road not too far off. We just get on with the work and try to stay out of the sun when it gets too bright.
