Jayprakash D Kamate Clinic

This clinic is situated in Lal Baug, right on Dr Ambedkar Road. We are in Shankar Nivas at Shop Number 4. It is a busy part of Mumbai, especially during the festivals, but we are here year-round. The space is not very large, but it serves the purpose for people coming in for their checkups or when they are feeling under the weather. We have some chairs for waiting and a small desk where we keep the records. Most of the patients come from the local chawls and apartments nearby. They know Dr. Kamate has been practicing here for a long time. It can get a bit noisy with the buses and taxis outside on the main road, but once you step inside, it is a bit quieter. We try to keep the appointments moving so nobody has to sit for too long. Sometimes the rain makes the street outside a bit messy, but people still make their way here. It is just a local spot where people come to get looked at. We do not have any fancy machines or big waiting rooms, just a basic clinic setup. We focus on listening to what the patients have to say and helping them out with their health concerns. It is a familiar routine every day, and we have gotten to know many families over the years. We keep the doors open and just handle whatever comes our way, from minor coughs to regular follow-ups.
