Shivkumar Exports

Our office is tucked into Silk House at No. 29, right on J. Shankarseth Road. Shivkumar Exports has been around this part of the city for quite some time now. If you know the area, you know how packed the Silk House building can get with different traders and businesses all working side by side. We deal with exports, which usually means a lot of paperwork and tracking shipments that are heading out. The office space is mostly filled with files and some samples of the things we move. It’s not the quietest place to work because of the traffic on Shankarseth Road, but you get used to the constant honking after a few days. We don't spend much time on fancy decorations or anything like that. It’s a functional setup with some old wooden desks and chairs that have seen better years. Most of our day is spent coordinating with people and making sure the boxes get where they are supposed to go. Sometimes things get delayed at the port or there’s a mix-up with the documents, so we spend a lot of time on the phone clearing things up. It’s a lot of routine work, honestly. We take our tea breaks when we can and just keep the business moving. Being in a place like Silk House means there is always someone around if you need something, which is nice.
