We are located in Dahisar, and if you know this part of town, you know it gets busy. This place is where students come when they have their commerce exams coming up. It’s mostly just rows of benches and whiteboards. We spend a lot of time going over accounts and math. The fans hum all day because it gets quite warm in the afternoons. Sometimes the street noise from outside gets a bit loud, but the kids seem to tune it out when they are focused on their books. I usually get here early to open up and make sure there’s enough chalk or markers for the day. It’s not a corporate setup at all. There are stacks of old papers in the corner and sometimes a bit of dust on the windowsills that I forget to wipe. Students drop by after their regular college hours, so the evenings are the most active time. We have a small area where they can stand and chat during breaks. Most of them are worried about their futures, but we just try to keep them grounded and working on the problems in front of them. Dahisar has been a good home for us. We know the local shops nearby and where to get the best tea for the staff. It’s a simple life of teaching and learning, without any big fuss or fancy decorations on the walls. We just keep the doors open and the lights on for whoever needs to study.
