Heritage

Heritage is located at number 22 on Warden Road in Worli West. This part of the city has its own feel, a bit different from the suburbs. The building is older, and you can tell by the way the windows are set and how the entrance looks. We spend our time inside mostly, surrounded by whatever we’ve got on the shelves that week. It’s not a massive space, so we have to be careful about where we put things so people don't trip. The light comes in through the front in the afternoons, which is nice, but it makes the place get a bit warm. We just open the door to let the breeze in from the sea side. It’s a lot of dusting and making sure things look decent enough. We aren't trying to win any awards for how the shop looks; it's just a place where we do our business. Some days are very slow, and we just sit and talk about the news or what's happening in Worli. Other days, we have a few people coming in and out, asking questions about this or that. We don't have a big staff, just us here every day doing the same routine. It’s a quiet life for the most part, right there on Warden Road, just keeping the shop open and waiting for the next person to walk through the door.
