Our office is located at 109/110 Samuel Street. It is right next to Jethabhai Transports and across from the Khoja Jamatkhana in Maszid Bunder West. This area is about as busy as it gets in the city. The streets are narrow and filled with people carrying bags and pushing carts. We are in the middle of all that trade and movement. Our space is on one of the floors of an old commercial building. It is a bit of a climb up, but once you are inside, it is our little workspace. We have stacks of files and a few computers that have seen better days. The noise from Samuel Street never really stops. You can hear the shouting of the loaders and the bells of the cycles all day. We spend our time managing orders and talking to transport guys. It is a very hands-on kind of place. There is no air conditioning in the hallway, so it gets pretty warm in the summer months. We usually keep a few bottles of water on the desk and a fan pointed right at us. It is not a fancy corporate office, and we do not try to make it one. We just do our work, talk to our neighbors, and keep things moving. The smell of the market is always there, whether it is spices or just the dusty city air. It is just how things are in Maszid Bunder.
