Godrej Efacec Automation And Robotics Ltd operates out of Plant No 19A in Pirojshanagar, Vikhroli. If you know the Godrej campus, you know it’s a massive area with a lot of history. Our plant is just one part of that big industrial landscape. We work on automated storage and retrieval systems, which basically means we build robots that move things around in big warehouses. It’s pretty technical stuff, but the way we work is fairly grounded. We spend a lot of time on the shop floor looking at machines and testing out software. It’s not a quiet office job. There's always some noise from the machinery or the sound of people moving parts around. We’ve got a mix of veteran engineers who have been here for decades and younger folks who are just starting out. It’s a good balance. We don't have a lot of fancy marketing talk around here. We just focus on making sure the systems we build don't break down when they’re supposed to be moving thousands of boxes. The Vikhroli area has its own charm, especially with all the greenery around the Godrej estate, which is a nice break from the usual Mumbai concrete. We just come in, do our shifts, and try to make sure everything is running smoothly. It’s steady work, and we take some pride in seeing our systems actually working in the real world. Sometimes the coffee machine breaks, but we fix that too.
