Our division is located at Plant 17 in Pirojshanagar, Vikhroli. If you’ve ever been to this part of Mumbai, you know how massive the Godrej campus is. It’s almost like a small city inside the city. Plant 17 is where we handle the security solutions side of things. It’s a big industrial space with high ceilings and the smell of metal and grease. We spend our days working on safes, locks, and other heavy-duty security hardware. It’s a lot of physical work, moving heavy items and making sure all the mechanical parts fit just right. The noise level can be quite high when the machines are running, so we’ve all gotten used to shouting a bit to be heard. Most of us have been working here at Pirojshanagar for years, and we know the shortcuts through the various plants and greenery. The canteen is a bit of a walk from Plant 17, but it’s where everyone catches up. We don't have fancy office furniture; it’s mostly sturdy metal desks and chairs that have seen a lot of use. The focus is always on the manufacturing floor and getting the units assembled and shipped out. It’s a steady pace of work. Even though it’s a big company, our specific area feels like a close-knit shop. We just show up, do the work, and deal with the daily logistics of a large manufacturing site. It’s honest, heavy work that keeps us busy from shift to shift.
