K J B Compound is one of those places that stays busy from dawn till dusk. We are located at B9 A34, right across from Nahar Amrit Shakti on Khairani Road. If you know Mumbai, you know how Sakinaka can get with the traffic and the noise. Our daily life is mostly surrounded by metal. We handle valves and fittings of all sorts. It is a bit of a dusty job, and the warehouse can get quite warm in the summer months. There is no air conditioning in the main storage area, so we just keep the fans going. We spend a lot of time checking the threads on parts and making sure the inventory matches the sheets. It’s not glamorous work. Sometimes the delivery trucks get stuck on Khairani Road, which slows everything down. We just sit out front or in the small office area and wait it out. There are a few of us here, and we’ve worked together for years. We know the compound like the back of our hands. People from other shops often drop by to borrow a tool or just to chat for a minute. It’s a community of sorts. We don't have a fancy website or a big sales team. We just answer the phone and help the people who come to the gate. It's just a regular business in a busy part of Mumbai.
