D. M. Exports

D. M. Exports is located in Sajjan Garh CHS, which is part of the Ramnagar B Vibhag in Ghatkopar West. It’s a residential society, so the office has a very lived-in feel to it. We occupy unit number 583. It is a bit of a walk from the station, but the exercise is good for us. We’ve been working out of this spot for a while now. The room is usually a bit warm because the sun hits it directly in the afternoon, so we keep the fans going at full speed. There’s a small balcony where we keep some plants and take our tea breaks. Working in Ghatkopar is nice because everything you need is right around the corner. We handle the export paperwork and coordinate with the docks from here. It’s a lot of sitting at desks and making sure the numbers match up. We don’t have a marketing department or a fancy website. Most of our work comes from word of mouth or people we have dealt with for a decade. It’s a simple operation. We show up at nine, do what needs to be done, and head home when the work is finished. Sometimes we stay late when there’s a big shipment going out, but that’s just part of the job. It feels good to be a part of the local community here in Ramnagar. We know the security guard and the shopkeepers downstairs quite well.
