Gaurav Nikarge

I’m based over in Goregaon East on Sonawala Road. The address is Building No D/2, right on the Hospital Road. It’s a busy area with people always rushing around. Living and working here means dealing with a lot of noise from the street. The hospital is close by, so there are always ambulances and cars moving. I’ve been in this building for a while now. My workspace is just a simple room with a desk and some books. It’s not a corporate office. It’s just where I get things done. Gaurav Nikarge is the name on the door, but it’s mostly just me here. I spend a lot of time on the phone or typing away. Sometimes I go down to the local shops for a snack. Sonawala Road has everything you need if you know where to look. The building is an older one, so the lift is sometimes slow. I prefer taking the stairs anyway. The walls are a bit thin, so I can hear the neighbors sometimes. It feels like a real part of Mumbai. There’s no fancy lobby or anything like that. Just a hallway and a door. I keep a calendar on the wall to track my days. Most of my work comes from people I’ve known for years. It’s a practical setup. I don't need much more than a good light and a quiet corner when I can get it.
