Gandhi Tutions

Gandhi Tutions is situated at 164-A on Dr Ambedkar Road in Dadar East. We are right opposite the Parsi Gymkhana, which is a nice landmark to have. Being in Dadar means there is never a quiet moment. You can always hear the cars and the general hum of Mumbai life outside. The building we are in has that old Mumbai charm, though it could probably use a bit of a touch-up here and there. Inside, we have our rooms set up with rows of benches that have seen many years of students. The wooden floors creak a bit when you walk across them. We don't have any flashy signs or digital screens. We still prefer using chalk or markers on a plain board. It feels more real that way. During the monsoon, the sound of the rain on the windows is quite loud, but it’s actually kind of nice. We spend our days mostly grading papers or talking to students who are worried about their upcoming tests. It’s a simple life here. We know the local shopkeepers and the tea seller nearby brings us a tray every evening. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t. It’s just a place in Dadar where kids come to learn and we do our best to explain things in a way that makes sense to them. The fans stay on all day to keep the Mumbai heat away as much as possible.
