Gandhi Nursing Home

This place is located in Haridwar Apartments in Ghatkopar West, right behind Hotel Arway. It’s a quiet residential area, mostly, except for the occasional honking from the main road. The nursing home isn't very big. We have a few rooms and a small reception area where the phone rings more than it should. The building is a bit older, so the plumbing can be temperamental sometimes. We spend a lot of time talking to the families who come in. It’s more like a local house than a big medical center. The walls are painted a dull cream color that we should probably change one day. We have a small kitchen where we make basic meals and lots of tea for the staff. Most of us have worked here for years, so we know each other's habits pretty well. It’s a slow-paced environment compared to the big city hospitals. We see a lot of elderly people from the neighborhood who just need some basic care or a check-up. We don't have a website or any fancy marketing stuff. People just know we are here behind the hotel. It’s a simple, honest way to earn a living, looking after people in our own small way. Sometimes the rain leaks through the window frame in the hall, so we put a bucket there and carry on. It's just a job we do every day.
