Fresh Catch

Fresh Catch is located right on Mahim Sasane Nagar Rd, and if you know the area, you know how busy it gets with all the cars and bikes rushing past. We spend most of our mornings dealing with the crates coming in from the docks. It’s a wet job and your hands are always cold, even when it’s humid and gross outside. The floor stays damp most of the time, so we all wear those heavy rubber boots to keep from slipping. We don’t have much of a front office, just a counter and the space where we keep everything on ice. It smells like the ocean here, which some people don't like, but we've gotten used to it over the years. We see a lot of local families coming in to pick up something for their dinner. Sometimes we have to tell people we've run out of what they wanted because the morning haul wasn't great. That’s just the way it is with this kind of business. The lights inside are a bit dim, and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but it works for us. We spend a lot of time cleaning up after the lunch rush finally dies down. It’s a lot of scrubbing and hosing down the tiles to keep things decent. Mahim is a good spot to be, even with the noise and the narrow roads. We’re just here every day, opening up early.
