Ess Dee Aluminium

Our workshop is part of the Oshiwara Industrial Centre, located inside Ankur Society on Linking Road 248. Being on Linking Road means there’s never a quiet moment with all the cars and buses rushing past. We’ve got a unit here where we handle a lot of aluminium work. It’s a light metal, but when you have stacks of it, it’s still a lot of work to move around. The industrial centre is a maze of different businesses, so we get a lot of foot traffic from people looking for other shops. We mostly just focus on our cutting and assembling. The floor is usually covered in those tiny silver chips you get from sawing aluminium. We try to sweep up, but it’s a losing battle until the day is over. Our space isn't very large, so we have to be smart about where we put the finished pieces. The walls are lined with samples and off-cuts from previous jobs. It’s just a normal workplace with a few fans and some old chairs for when we take our tea break. We don’t have a big corporate story or anything like that. We just showed up one day, set up the machines, and started working. Most of our customers are builders or guys doing home renovations nearby. It’s steady work and it keeps the lights on. We like being in Oshiwara because everything you need is just a short walk away.
