Being on the ground floor of the Neelah Building is pretty convenient, especially since we are right at Marine Drive n. You can usually smell the salt in the air when the wind blows the right way. It’s a busy part of town, always cars zooming past and people walking along the promenade. Our space here at number 80 isn't very big, but it’s enough for what we do. The floor is that old-fashioned tiling you see in many Mumbai buildings. We have a small desk near the entrance where we keep the register and the phone. It gets a bit noisy during the day with the traffic outside, but inside we try to keep things moving along smoothly. People find us easily because of the location, though sometimes they miss the entrance if they aren't looking closely at the building numbers. We spend a lot of time organizing files and cleaning the equipment. There's no fancy lobby or anything like that. Just a straightforward clinic where we see patients throughout the afternoon. Sometimes the rain splashes against the windows during monsoon and we have to make sure the door is shut tight. It's a lived-in space that feels like part of the neighborhood. Most of the staff has been here for years, so we know the routine by heart. We just show up, do the work, and head home when the sun goes down over the ocean. The Neelah building is a good place for us.
