Dr Belanie Blue Shield Medical Clinic is situated right in the Colaba area of Mumbai. If you’ve ever walked around these streets, you know they have a lot of history and a very specific feel. We’ve been here for a long time, fitting into the rhythm of the neighborhood. It’s a medical clinic, so we handle all the usual health issues people have. It’s not a huge place, but it works for what we need. People from all walks of life stop by. Some are tourists who get a bit sick, but mostly it’s the people who live and work right here in Colaba. We keep things low-key. There aren't any flashy advertisements out front. We just have our door and a sign. Inside, it's pretty simple. We have a small waiting area and the consultation rooms. The staff is local, and we’ve known many of our patients for years. We hear the sounds of the city all day, the horns and the people walking by. It’s a busy life but we like it. We don't have any corporate slogans. We just do the exams and write the prescriptions. It’s a basic medical practice in a very old part of the city. We show up every morning and see who needs help. That’s about all there is to it. We’re just glad to be a steady part of this community. It’s a job like any other, but we feel it matters to the people on these streets.
