We are located in the Devkaran Mansion on Vithaldas Road, right in the middle of Lohar Chawl. It is a very busy part of Mumbai, so there is always a lot of noise outside the windows from the morning onwards. We have been here for a good number of years now. Our rooms are filled with old wooden desks and lots of notebooks piled up in the corners. It is not a fancy place, but it gets the job done for the students who come here after their regular school hours. Most of the kids live around Mangaldas Market or take the train in from other parts of the city. We usually start our day early and finish quite late when the markets are finally closing up for the night. The lights in our hallways are a bit dim sometimes, but the classrooms are bright enough for reading. We spend most of our time explaining things on the chalkboard and checking homework. There is a small tea stall nearby where we go during our short breaks. Sometimes it gets quite hot in the afternoons, but the ceiling fans keep things moving. We don't have a big reception area or anything like that. You just walk in and find someone at a desk. It is a very normal, local setup where we focus on the books. People know us by word of mouth mostly. We don't do much advertising. It’s just about getting through the syllabus.
