Nirmal Enterprises

Nirmal Enterprises is located in 1 Naudas Chawl, over in the Kala Killa area of Dharavi, Mumbai. We have been in this neighborhood for a very long time. Our place is quite small, which is common for businesses around here. We deal with various items and small-scale trading. It is a humble setup inside the chawl. The streets around Kala Killa are narrow and always full of life. There is a lot of noise from the neighbors and other small workshops nearby. We do not have an office with a nameplate or a receptionist. It is just a room where we store our goods and do our paperwork. Most of our business happens through word of mouth or long-standing relationships with other people in Dharavi. We start our work early in the morning when the area wakes up. It can get very hot and cramped during the summer months, but we are used to it. We do not spend money on fancy things or marketing. We just focus on the daily tasks and making sure our customers get what they need. Living and working in the same area means we know everyone around. Sometimes we sit outside on the steps to talk to neighbors. It is a very community-oriented way of working. Things can be a bit messy sometimes, but we manage to keep the business going year after year without any big fuss. The rains can be tough, and we have to make sure things stay dry.
