Daniels Classes

We’ve got Daniels Classes running out of Room No.1 in the B I T Cottage. It’s on Telang Cross Road in Matunga East. The cottage is an older building, so it has a different feel than the new blocks around Mumbai. It’s a small, ground-floor room which makes it easy for people to just walk in. We’ve been here for quite a few years now. The space is a bit tight when we have more than a handful of students, but we’ve managed to fit everyone in so far. We just have some basic desks and chairs and a board on the wall. It’s a quiet enough street for Matunga, though you still hear the occasional taxi or hawker going by. We don’t do much in the way of decoration; we just focus on the books. It’s mostly just me and another teacher handling everything from the lessons to the cleaning. We don’t have a website or any big posters. Most of the kids who come here live in the nearby buildings or go to school around the corner. We try to keep things relaxed but we do make sure the work gets done. It’s a very local, small-scale operation. If you’re looking for a fancy institute, this isn’t it. But if you want a place in Matunga where people actually know your name, we’re here at B I T Cottage every afternoon.
