Classic Furnishers

If you’re walking down Narayan Dhuru Street, you’ve probably passed by our building a hundred times without noticing the entrance. Classic Furnishers is tucked away up on the first floor, specifically in Room No.5. It’s one of those old buildings where the stairs are a bit narrow and you have to watch your step. We’ve been working out of this space at 158/160 for a while. It’s crowded in here, honestly. There are pieces of wood and fabric everywhere because we use every inch of the room. Sometimes the light isn't great, but we know where everything is. It's a small crew of us just doing the work day in and day out. Narayan Dhuru Street is always loud and full of people, so coming up to the first floor is a bit of a relief from the heat outside. We don’t have a big showroom with bright lights. Most of what we have is just stacked up or being worked on right there in the middle of the floor. You might have to move a chair to find a place to stand. We like it this way, though. It’s been our home for years and the locals know where to find us when they need something fixed or built. We usually have the radio on in the background while we work. It’s just a regular workshop where things actually get made by hand and things are a bit dusty.
