Choice Centre

We’ve been here at Pannalal Terrace on X Lane for quite a while now. If you know Grant Road station, you know exactly where we are, just right across from it. It gets pretty loud with the trains and the crowds, but that’s just how it is around here. Choice Centre isn't some fancy place you’d find in a mall. It’s a small shop where we handle watches and whatever else comes through the door. Sometimes the rain leaks a bit near the front during the monsoon, but we manage to keep things dry. My father started things here, and I just kept it going because it’s what I know. We see all kinds of people coming off the platform, mostly folks in a hurry to get home or to work. Usually, they just need a quick fix or a new strap because theirs snapped in the rush. The light in here isn't the best, especially in the evenings when the street gets crowded. We keep our tools on the old wooden desk that's been here since the beginning. It’s a bit messy, but I know where everything is kept. You learn to work with the noise of the traffic and the shouting outside. It’s a busy life on this lane. We don't do much talking, just get the job done and hand it back. That’s how we've always done things at number 17. It’s just a normal shop in a busy part of the city.
