Mercantile Exports

You can find Mercantile Exports right on the ground floor, units G 5 and 6, in Shrikant Chambers. Being in Chembur East is convenient for us, though the Sion-Trombay Road traffic can be a real headache during the morning rush. We chose this spot because having ground floor access makes it much easier to move things in and out without dealing with elevators or narrow staircases. The office is pretty basic and functional. We have our desks set up in the main room and some storage space in the back for samples and old files. It’s a practical setup. We don't have a big reception area or anything like that because we usually don't have many walk-in visitors. Most of our work is done through emails and phone calls anyway. The team here has been together for a bit, so we all know who is responsible for what without needing a manual. It’s a lot of checking manifests and making sure the export codes are right. We try to keep the coffee pot full because the afternoons can get long when the weather is hot. Sometimes the air conditioning acts up, but we manage with a few fans. It’s just a normal place where we work hard to keep the business running. We don't use big words or fancy titles to describe ourselves. We are just a group of people in Chembur doing export work day in and day out. Sometimes we order lunch from the place down the street just to save time.
