Our place is at No. 201 Akshaya Plaza on 1st Road. It’s right near the Municipal Office in the 'M' Ward area of Chembur East. It is a very busy neighborhood with people constantly coming and going for their own errands. Being on the second floor is convenient because we don’t have to wait for the elevator if we are in a hurry; we just take the stairs. The office itself is quite practical. We have a few long tables where we spread out the shipping manifests and inventory lists. Sometimes the noise from the street below is a bit much, especially during the festivals, but that is just part of being in this area. We deal with overseas logistics, which basically means a lot of emails and long-distance calls. We have a small corner for files that seems to grow every month. It’s not the most modern setup, but the computers work and the internet is usually stable enough for what we need. We don’t have a receptionist, so whoever is closest to the door usually lets people in. We usually eat lunch together at the big table in the middle when things are quiet. It’s a small group of us and we just try to get through the daily tasks without too much fuss. It is honest work and we have been doing it this way for a long time.
