Our small office is part of the Rashmi Society on Mith Bunder Road in Thane. It’s just unit number one, so we are right there on the ground floor. Mith Bunder Road is an interesting part of town because you have the creek nearby and it feels a bit different from the crowded parts of central Thane. We deal with healthcare products and it is mostly a family-style environment here. We have a few people who have been with us since the beginning. The office isn’t anything fancy, just some desks and shelves filled with product catalogs and records. Sometimes the salt air from the creek makes things feel a bit damp during the monsoon, but we are used to it by now. We spend a lot of time on the phone with clients and manufacturers. It’s a lot of coordinating and making sure things arrive on time. We don’t have a big corporate structure or anything like that. If someone calls, they usually talk to the same person every time. We like being in Thane because it’s well-connected but doesn’t feel as crushed as Mumbai can sometimes. The local shops around Mith Bunder Road are where we get our tea and snacks. It’s a humble place to run a business, but it works for us and our clients seem to appreciate the straightforward way we do things. We just keep busy and try to stay organized. It is not always easy, but it is our work.
