Our spot is over at White Hall, right on the second floor. The address is No. 413 on A. K. Marg, so it’s easy enough to find if you know the road. Burlingtons Exports has its setup there, and it’s a decent place to spend the work week. The building has that older feel to it, not like those new steel structures they keep putting up everywhere. Climbing the stairs to the second floor is part of the routine every morning. A. K. Marg is usually buzzing with people and cars, but once you get inside White Hall, it gets a bit quieter. We have enough space for what we need to do. There isn’t a lot of extra room for anything flashy, so we just focus on the tasks at hand. Most of us have worked together for a long time. It’s the kind of office where everyone knows where everything is kept. The windows let in some light from the street, and you can see the city moving along outside while we handle the exports. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons, but we manage. We aren’t trying to impress anyone with expensive furniture or big logos. It is just a practical workspace in a good part of town. We show up, do what needs doing, and then head home when the sun starts going down. It is a long walk to the train station, but the exercise is okay for us.
