Heet Exports is a small outfit located in Shop No. B-2 of the Vardhaman Darshan Building. We are on Jambli Lane, which everyone around here just calls Jambli Gali, in Borivali West. It’s a very local spot, surrounded by markets and other small shops. During the day, the lane is packed with people shopping for groceries or clothes. Our shop is tucked in there, and we use every inch of the space we have. There are boxes stacked up to the ceiling most weeks. We do a lot of exporting, so we are always checking weights and labels before things head out to the port. It’s a lot of manual work, moving things around and making sure nothing gets damaged in the heat. The building itself is a typical Borivali structure, a bit worn down but sturdy enough. We have a small table where we sit to have our morning tea and plan out the day. It’s not a corporate environment at all. We wear casual clothes and talk to the other shopkeepers like they’re family. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the front door during a heavy storm, so we keep some old towels handy. We just try to stay on top of the orders and make sure the paperwork is in order. It’s a simple life but it keeps us moving. We’ve been here for a few years and the neighbors have become good friends of ours over time.
