You can find us at Ramesh Bhuvan, over in Tambakanta. We are on the third floor, specifically in Room 40. Tambakanta is one of those old-school market areas where everything feels a bit cramped and busy. The building itself has been around for a long time, and you can see it in the wooden stairs and the high ceilings. We act as a yarn agency, which means we are the middle ground for people buying and selling yarn. Our room is filled with sample cones of different types of yarn—cotton, polyester, all sorts. It’s a lot of talking on the phone and meeting with people who come up the three flights of stairs to see us. The market outside is always noisy with handcarts and people yelling, but up here in Room 40, it’s a bit more focused. We don’t have any fancy brochures or a marketing plan. We just know our yarn and we know the people in the trade. We spend our days checking prices, looking at samples, and making sure the orders are moving along. It’s a very traditional way of doing business. We drink a lot of coffee and keep an eye on the clock. By the time evening rolls around, the building gets a bit quieter, and that’s when we finish up our paperwork before heading home to our families. It is a long day but it is steady work.
