Working in Bhandup West means dealing with the traffic on LBS Marg every single day. Our unit, number 119, is inside the Kothari Industrial Estate. It’s a busy place with trucks coming in and out at all hours. The building itself has seen better days, but it’s sturdy and does the job for our export business. Inside the unit, it’s mostly just rows of shelves and a couple of old desks where we handle the billing. You can hear the hum of the other units nearby, sometimes there’s some hammering or the sound of a saw. We start early to avoid the worst of the heat and the road noise. Most of the time we are just checking boxes and making sure the labels haven't fallen off. It’s a lot of manual work, moving things from the back to the front for the loaders. We don’t have fancy signs or a glass entrance. It’s just a metal door with our name on it. When things get busy, the whole place feels very small, and we have to step over things to get around. We usually have our lunch together in the corner where the fan works the best. It’s a practical way to run things, and we’ve been doing it this way for quite a while now. The estate is old, but it has got everything we need to keep the boxes moving out.
