Beekay Textile Mills Ltd

The office is tucked away in the Grants Building Annexure near the old Strand Cinema. Working in Colaba means dealing with the old Mumbai charm and a lot of traffic every single morning. Beekay Textile Mills Ltd has its roots here, and the building itself has a lot of character, even if the stairs are a bit narrow sometimes. We are right on Cunningham Road, which is always buzzing with people going to the cinema or just walking around the shops. Inside, things are mostly about fabric and ledgers. It is a bit of a maze with all the papers and samples lying around on the desks. We do not have those modern open-plan offices you see in magazines. It is more of a traditional setup where everyone knows where their chair is and who is making the tea. Being near the sea helps on those really hot days when a breeze actually makes it through the window. We spend our hours talking to suppliers and keeping track of the mill work from a distance. It is a busy place but we try not to let it get too chaotic. The walls are thick, and the history of this part of town feels very real when you sit here all day. Most of us have been coming to this same spot for years, and we have seen the neighborhood change while we just keep doing our textile work.
