Our office is right on the ground floor of Lohana Niwas. It's over in Matunga East, near the bazar. If you know Laxmi Narayan Lane, you've probably walked right past us. It’s a crowded area in Mumbai, but it’s home for the business. Being in the commodities trade means we spend a lot of time on the phone or checking prices. It gets pretty noisy outside with the market so close, but we’re used to it by now. We moved into Plot Number 17 a while back. The space isn't huge, but it fits our desks and the paperwork we have to keep. Dealing with agricultural goods in a city like Mumbai is interesting. You see the stuff coming in from all over. We spend most of our mornings getting things sorted and then afternoons are for follow-ups. It’s a lot of logistics. Sometimes the internet acts up or the rain makes travel a mess, but we manage. We aren't trying to be some giant corporation. We’re just a small group of people working in Matunga. Most of us take the train in. It's a practical way to run a business. We don't have any fancy signs or anything. Just a regular office where we handle the buying and selling. It keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. It's not a glamorous life, but it's what we know how to do well enough to keep the doors open.
