Ascenders

We’re up on the first floor of the Aghadi Industrial Estate, at 12-A. Marol Maroshi Road is always packed with people and vehicles. It’s a typical Mumbai industrial area. Ascenders is the name we go by. We aren't some high-rise corporate firm. Our office is functional, maybe a bit cramped when we have a lot of stuff going on. We do a bit of everything here, mostly related to services and small-scale operations. It’s a hands-on kind of place. You won't find people in suits very often. We wear what’s comfortable for the work. The building itself is old, like most in Marol. The stairs are narrow, and the walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but it's home to us. We’ve been here long enough to know all the local tea vendors and the courier guys. Our work involves a lot of coordination. We spend hours on the computer and the phone. It’s not a fancy life. We just try to stay on top of our tasks. Sometimes the power goes out, or the internet crawls, and we just deal with it. We don't have a marketing department telling us what to say. We just tell people where we are and what we can do. It’s practical. We like the bustle of Marol. It keeps us moving. If you’re looking for 12-A, just head up the stairs at Aghadi. We’re usually there until late. We don't have a big mission statement on the wall. We just want to finish the day's work.
