Arjun Classes

We run Arjun Classes over at Standard House in Marine Lines. It’s on Survey No 274 Road, Block No 107. The building is one of those old ones that has seen a lot of history. It can be a bit of a maze finding the right block, but once you get to 107, you’ll see Arjun Classes. It is usually pretty loud with students coming and going. Marine Lines is always buzzing, so there is never a quiet moment. We have some desks and a chalkboard. It’s not some high-tech center. We just use what we have. Sometimes the fans make a clicking noise and the windows are a bit stiff to open. But it’s a good place to be. We have been in Standard House for a while now. Most people around here know us by name. We don't do much advertising. People just find their way here. The tea stall downstairs is where we go when we need a break. The stairs are a bit steep, so you get a bit of a workout coming up to see us. We keep things very basic. No flashy posters or anything like that. Just a place where people come to learn. It feels very local. We are just regular people doing our jobs in a busy part of town. Standard House has a lot of character, even if it’s a bit run down in places. We’ve spent a lot of time cleaning the floors and trying to keep the dust away from the books. It’s a constant battle. At Arjun Classes, we don’t have a fancy lobby or a coffee machine. We just have the classrooms and the hallway where people wait. It can get quite cramped when a new batch starts. The light in the hallway flickers sometimes, and we’ve been meaning to get it fixed for months. That’s just how things go. We are more interested in the teaching than the building itself. Marine Lines is a great place because of the sea breeze you get sometimes, though it doesn't always reach Block No 107. We’ve got stacks of old papers in the corner that we should probably throw out. But we keep them just in case. It’s a lived-in space that feels like home to us. We’ve been here for years and hope to stay for many more.
