If you are looking for Krishna & Company, you have to head down Mahakali Caves Road in Andheri East. We are located at Paper Box, right near Hotel White House. It is a bit of a landmark around here, so most people don't have trouble finding us. The area is always crowded with people heading to work or grabbing food at the local stalls. Inside our place, it smells like paper and glue most of the time. We make boxes, and that means we have huge stacks of cardboard taking up almost every inch of space. You have to watch your step so you don’t trip over a pile of half-finished cartons. It’s a noisy business, especially when the cutting machines are running. We don't have fancy air conditioning in the main work area, so it gets pretty warm in the afternoons. Sometimes we just prop the door open to get a breeze, even if it means letting in the street noise. My chair is old and squeaks every time I move, but I’ve had it for years and I’m used to it. We don't spend money on stuff we don't need. Every rupee goes back into the materials or keeping the machines in good shape. It’s a simple life. We start early, work until the sun goes down, and make sure the boxes are sturdy enough for whatever the customers are putting inside them. That is basically our whole day.
