Amit Engg Works

Finding us can be a bit of a trick if you aren't familiar with the Chimat Pada area near Marol Naka. Amit Engg Works is tucked away at unit 2 of the Prabhunath Singh Thakar Industrial Estate. It’s right off the Andheri-Kurla Road, so the noise from the metro and the traffic is pretty much constant. We’ve been in this spot for quite a while now. The building is a bit weathered, and the stairs are steep, but it’s our space. We do a lot of different engineering jobs here, mostly things that require a bit of manual effort and patience. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy lobby. You just walk in and someone will usually be there covered in a bit of grease ready to talk to you. We work with our hands and we use machines that have been with us for years. They still work fine, so we keep using them. The neighborhood has changed a lot with the new buildings going up, but our little corner feels mostly the same. We take our lunch breaks together and talk about the news or whatever is happening on the street. It’s a simple way to run a business. We don't need a lot of bells and whistles to get through the day, just enough work to keep everyone busy and the lights on. It’s just how we have always done things.
