Our classes are held over at the Mistry Building on Sun Mill Lane in Lower Parel. It’s a typical Mumbai spot, number 36/2 to be exact. If you know Lower Parel, you know it’s always moving and always loud. We’ve been in this building for quite a while now. The space inside isn't huge, but we’ve arranged it so there’s enough room for everyone to sit and focus. It’s an old building with a lot of character, and we like it that way. We don't have fancy air conditioning in every corner or velvet chairs. It’s just wooden desks and the sound of the city outside. People come here from all over Mumbai because the train station isn't too far away. We spend our days going through lessons and checking homework. It’s a very routine kind of life. We aren't trying to be the biggest school in the city. We just want to make sure the people who come here actually understand what they're reading. We drink a lot of chai and talk about the syllabus. Sometimes the rain makes the lane a bit messy, but that's just part of being here. We’re just regular people who know our subjects well. We stay open until the last student leaves, which is often late. It can get a bit humid in the monsoon, but we keep the fans running high so it stays okay.
