Aliya Telecom is our little shop over in Mahim, specifically in Navratna Society on Jain Mandir Road. We’ve been here at 48/60 for a while. It’s a typical telecom spot where you can get your phone topped up or look for a new SIM card. The shop is small and the walls are covered in posters for different mobile plans. It gets very busy in the evenings when people are coming home from work. We also do some basic repairs if a screen is cracked or a battery is dying. It’s not a high-end boutique. It’s a practical place for people in the neighborhood. We know many of our customers by name since they live nearby in Mahim. Sometimes we have to deal with people who are upset because their internet isn't working, and we do our best to help them out. The Jain Mandir Road is usually crowded with people and scooters. We keep the shop open late because that’s when people need us most. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing plan. We just open the shutters every morning and wait for the first customer. It’s a simple life. We have a lot of cables and chargers hanging behind the counter. We just try to provide what people need for their phones without charging too much or making it complicated. It's a lot of work but it keeps us busy and pays the bills.
