Al Simi Exports

Operating out of Vijan Apartment on L J Road in Mahim is interesting because the road is never quiet. We are right there in the thick of it at Al Simi Exports. Our office is more like a lived-in space than a sterile workplace. We spend our hours coordinating exports, which basically means we are either on the phone or typing away at the old computers. Sometimes the salt air from the coast makes the windows a bit sticky, but that’s just part of being in Mahim. We don’t have a big reception area or anything like that. If you come by, you’ll probably see a couple of us sitting around a table covered in shipping documents and half-empty water bottles. We take things as they come. If a shipment is delayed, we deal with it. If a client calls late, we answer. It is just a small group of us trying to make a living and keeping the business moving forward. We know the local shops around L J Road well, and we usually get our lunch from the place around the corner. It is a practical way to work, focusing on the actual tasks instead of how the office looks. We just keep our heads down and do the work. This is how we’ve been managing things for years now.
