Akash Academy

Our academy is in Building No. 5 of Prem Nagar on Mandpeshwar Road in Borivali West. We are located right next to the Vijaya Bank branch. It’s a nice, established residential area. Being on the ground floor is great because it means no one has to deal with the stairs or the lift. The space we have is quite simple. We have filled it with benches and chairs that we’ve collected over time. It’s not a designer space by any means. The floor is made of old stone tiles and the ceiling fans are the heavy industrial kind that last forever. We have a small desk near the door where we keep our registers and some pens. Mandpeshwar Road is busy, but Prem Nagar itself feels a bit tucked away from the main madness of Borivali station. We have a lot of local kids coming in from the nearby societies. We don't spend money on big billboards or fancy advertisements. Most people just see our board while they are walking to the bank or the market. We take care of the place ourselves, from sweeping the floor in the morning to locking up the heavy gate at night. It’s a straightforward way to earn a living. We’ve been at this location for a while and we’ve gotten to know the rhythms of the street and the people who live here.
