You can find the Academy Of Welding Technology over in Sion at the B R S Nagar Housing Board Colony, unit G 3. This isn't your typical office with computers and quiet corners. It’s a place where things get made and fixed. We focus on teaching the actual skill of welding. Most of our days are spent in the workshop area. It’s got that specific smell of metal and heat, and it can get pretty warm in there. We aren't trying to be some fancy technical college with a big campus. We’re just a small operation in the housing board colony where we show people how to use the equipment properly. It’s hands-on stuff. If you come by, you’ll see us in our work gear, probably covered in a bit of dust. We talk to our students like they’re part of the team. There’s no corporate hierarchy here. We just want to make sure you know how to lay a good bead and keep yourself safe while doing it. The neighborhood is mostly residential, so we try not to be too loud, but welding is what it is. We’ve been here for a good stretch of time and people know us as the local spot for learning the trade. It’s honest work and we like seeing someone finally get the hang of a difficult weld. We keep things simple and practical. We don't have a big website or a social media page, just our workshop and our tools and a lot of metal scrap in the corner.
