Sandhu Marbles & Granites

Out here in Village Dohak, things move a bit slower than in the big cities. We’re located near the government school, so we often hear the kids playing or the bell ringing while we’re working in the yard. Being in the Muktsar taluka means we get some pretty intense weather, from very hot summers to cold winters. Our post office is over in Sherawali, but we spend all our time right here with the stone. The yard is usually full of marble and granite pieces that we’ve brought in. It’s a quiet life for the most part. We start early when it’s still cool enough to move things without breaking too much of a sweat. Local people from the village or nearby towns usually stop in when they are building a house. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything; we just rely on people seeing us as they go to the school or the market. Sometimes we have to move the slabs around just to make room for a new shipment coming in. It’s manual work, and our hands are always rough from the stone. We like being part of the community here in Dohak. It’s a simple setup, and we’re fine with that. Most days are just about managing the inventory and talking to whoever walks through the gate. If you're looking for us, we're the ones with the big stones piled up near the school fence. It's just how things are around here.
