Panjab Marble

We have been operating here on Gt Road Chack Alla Baksh for quite a long time now. Most days start early because the traffic on the main road gets loud pretty fast. Dealing with marble is heavy work and there is always white dust on everything, even the chairs in the small office area. We spend most of our time moving slabs around with the crane or showing people different patterns in the stone. It is a bit messy around here, but that is just how it goes when you work with stone. Some days are slow and we just sit and watch the trucks go by on the highway. Other days, three families show up at once wanting to see granite for their kitchens. We don't have a big fancy showroom with bright lights. Most of the stock is just leaning against the walls under the shed. It can get very hot in the summer because the roof is tin, but we have a couple of fans that we keep running. People usually find us because they are driving past or someone told them we have been here forever. We just try to keep the yard organized so no one trips over anything. It’s a simple setup. My cousin helps out with the loading when things get busy. We drink a lot of tea while waiting for the next delivery truck to arrive from the quarries. That is basically our life here.
