About Shivam Higher Secondary School – Education in Morena
Porsa is a small town and things move at their own pace here. Shivam Higher Secondary School sits right on Amba Road, which is one of the main ways people get in and out of this part of Morena. You can hear the tractors and trucks going by all day long. The building has been here for a bit and it looks like a typical school. We have high ceilings and the walls are painted a simple color that has faded a little over the years. In the mornings, you can see the students walking down Amba Road in their uniforms, some coming from quite far away. The classrooms have wooden desks that have seen a lot of use. We don't have any big fancy signs or anything, just the name on the front. During the rainy season, the yard gets a bit muddy and we have to put down bricks for people to walk on so they don't ruin their shoes. Most of the teachers live nearby in Morena or right here in Porsa, so everyone knows each other. It’s the kind of place where you stop and talk to neighbors on your way into work. We spend our time checking attendance, writing on the chalkboards, and making sure the students stay focused on their books. It is a very normal, everyday kind of atmosphere. Nothing too complicated happens here, just the usual cycle of classes and exams that make up the school year in a town like this.
