Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya

We are out here at A-01 on Kota Road in the Jaida area of Sheopur. It is a bit of a drive from the main town center, but that makes it a quiet place for a school. Since this is a Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, most of our students live here on the grounds. It is like a small village inside the walls. We have the dormitories, the mess hall, and the classrooms all spread out. It is a lot of walking back and forth every day. The weather in Sheopur can be really tough. In the summer, the sun beats down on the playground and everything gets quite dusty. We don’t have fancy landscaping, just some trees and the open ground. The buildings are functional. They are built with thick walls to keep out some of the heat. In the evenings, you can hear the kids playing football or cricket before they head in for dinner. The teachers live here too, so we are always around. It is a busy life. We spend a lot of time making sure the water tanks are full and the lights are working. It is not a polished corporate place at all. It is just a big campus where a lot of learning and living happens. We have been part of this landscape for years now and everyone in Jaida knows the school gates. It is just our daily reality out here on the road.
