Imlis Ceramica Llp is located out on Sartanpar Road. Our specific spot is S. No. 173/1 & 174 in the village of Ratavirda. If you know the Wankaner and Morbi area, you know this is the place for ceramics. The whole road is basically lined with factories and warehouses. It’s very industrial and very dusty. Our office is right there on the site. We spend a lot of time dealing with the grit that comes off the trucks. It’s not a place for clean shoes, that’s for sure. We have a small display area for the tiles, but it’s mostly just where we do the paperwork. The sound of the machinery is always there in the background, a sort of constant hum that you stop noticing after a while. We have a couple of desks that have seen better days and a computer that takes its time to boot up in the morning. Running a ceramics business in Morbi means you’re always busy. We are constantly checking the quality of what’s coming through and talking to the drivers. It’s hard work and the days are long, especially when the weather is bad. We don’t have a fancy mission statement or a polished brand. We just know tiles and we know how to get them where they need to go. It’s a gritty, real business and we’re just part of the local industry. It can be stressful, but we just manage.
