Ajanta Minerals

Ajanta Minerals is out here at Survey No. 151 on the Ahmedabad Highway near Bhamaiya. Being on the highway means there is always a lot of movement. You see the big trucks going past all day long heading towards the city or away from it. It can get pretty dusty because of the road and the open space around us. We’ve been at this spot for a while now. Our setup is basic and we don’t spend much on making things look shiny. It’s more about being functional for the work we do. The sun gets really hot in the afternoons here in Bhamaiya so we mostly stay indoors. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit but that’s just how it is in this part of the country. We don't have a big staff, just a few local guys. We know the neighbors, mostly other folks who have small yards or shops along the highway. There’s a small place nearby where we get our lunch most days. It’s nothing special but the food is hot and it fills you up. Finding the survey number can be a bit tricky if you aren’t paying attention to the markers along the road. We usually tell people to look for the landmark near the main turn. It’s a quiet place when the traffic dies down at night but during the day it’s quite active. We just keep our heads down and get through the tasks.
