New Designs Inc.

Our shop, New Designs Inc., is located at 52, F/16, Guiyan Bagh, right off Prince Road. It’s a bit of a maze to find us if you’re not used to these narrow streets. The building is older, and the stairs are a bit steep, but it’s a good spot for us. We have a few tables set up with our sketches and samples everywhere. It’s definitely not one of those clean, empty offices you see in magazines. There are fabric swatches, paper scraps, and pencils all over the place. We usually have the radio playing softly in the background to keep the mood steady. We spend a lot of time just sitting and drawing or talking about how a certain shape should look. Prince Road is always loud with scooters and people shouting, so we’ve learned to block that out. Clients come in and we usually clear off a chair for them to sit. We don't have any fancy coffee machines, just a kettle for tea. It feels more like a workshop than a business office. We like it that way because it makes it easier to just focus on the work itself. We’ve been in this neighborhood for a while, and we know the local tea seller and the guy who runs the stationery shop. We don’t really worry about being the biggest name out there. We just want to finish what’s on our desk and start the next thing.
