You can find us on Kanth Road in the Katghar area. We are right opposite the Vina Misthan Bhandar, which is dangerous because the smell of sweets always wafts over here. We’re also quite close to the Pac Tiraha, so the intersection is always buzzing with people and rickshaws. The shop is filled with all sorts of handmade things we’ve gathered or made. There’s not much of an organized system to how things are displayed; we just put things where they fit. Some days it feels like there isn't enough floor space to walk. The walls are covered with different crafts, and there’s always a bit of wood shavings or thread bits on the ground. We don't have air conditioning, so we rely on the ceiling fans and the open door. People often stop in after they finish their shopping at the sweets store across the road. We spend a lot of time explaining how certain things were made, not because we’re selling them hard, but just because we like talking about the work. It’s a busy spot, and the noise from the traffic at the Tiraha never really stops until late at night. Sometimes it gets a bit overwhelming with the heat and the crowds, but it’s a good place to be. We keep a pot of water for anyone who’s thirsty. It’s just a local shop doing what we know how to do best, day in and day out.
