Art - India

We've been at Kothi Sir Jagdish Prasad for quite some time now. Diwan Bazar is a busy place, but our spot in this old building feels a bit different. Art - India isn't a fancy showroom or anything like that. It's mostly just us working with various pieces every day. The walls here are thick, and you can tell the building has seen a lot of history. Most mornings start with unlocking the heavy doors and checking what needs to get done. We handle a lot of different items, mostly things people want for their homes or collections. It’s a bit dusty sometimes because of the old construction, but we don't mind. People find us easily enough once they get into the bazar area. It’s not always quiet outside with all the traffic and people moving around, but inside, we just focus on the work. We aren't really into big advertisements. Most people who come by already know where we are or heard about us from someone else in the neighborhood. We keep things pretty simple. There’s a desk where we do the paperwork and a lot of space for the inventory. Some days are slower than others, but there is always something to organize or pack. We’ve lived and worked around here long enough that the rhythm of the street feels natural. It’s just a regular workplace where we deal with art pieces and try to keep things moving along without too much fuss.
