Sculptures India

Our place, Sculptures India, is at house number 4558A in Sector-70. It is more of a studio and storage space than anything else. We have been working out of this address for a good while. There is always a lot of stone dust and chips of rock on the ground. We work with hammers and chisels most of the time. It is slow work and you have to be very careful not to break the stone in the wrong place. We are not a big company with lots of employees. It is just a few people who have the patience for carving. Sector-70 is a fairly modern area, but our workshop looks a bit out of place with all the heavy blocks of stone outside. We don't have a glossy catalog or a fancy website. People usually find out about us from others. Some of the sculptures take months to finish. We just take it one day at a time. It is a very physical job and your hands get rough from the work. We don't mind the mess or the noise of the tools. It is just what we do. Sometimes we have visitors who want to see how the carving is done, and we show them around. We are just a local workshop trying to keep this kind of work going. It is not about being corporate; it is just about making things out of stone.
